G'Day USA Great Australia-Texas BBQ
Australia is the second largest exporter globally of beef, with over USD1 billion headed to US markets in 2015. As the United States ‘BBQ Capital’, Texas is a prime partner for Australia’s agriculture and livestock industry.
The inaugural 2017 G’Day USA Great Australia-Texas BBQ was a celebration of Australian-Texan produce and culinary flair. Hosted in partnership with major US and Australian food and agribusiness providers, the event featured Australian TV chef and ‘professional hard-core carnivore’ Jess Pryles and Texan barbeque masters on the best of meat BBQ, followed by a BBQ tasting session and a networking reception.
Held on the grounds of the Governor of Texas’ Residence, the event showcased to Texan law and policy makers the complementarities of Australian and Texan cultures and promote opportunities for cooperation and collaboration.
Attendees included food and agriculture experts, restaurateurs, media, policy makers, food and beverage specialists and importers and exporters.
