G’Day USA Los Angeles Gala
The G’Day USA Los Angeles Gala is the pre-eminent business networking event for Australian and US companies seeking to increase their visibility and presence in our respective markets. The 2018 Gala offered an immersive Australian experience, showcasing Australian food, wine and entertainment, as well as exciting sponsor activations that promoted the best of Australia in the US.
At the 2018 Gala, G’Day USA honoured Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning producer Bruna Papandrea with a G’Day USA Outstanding Achievement in Film & Television award. Actress and producer Margot Robbie received the G’Day USA Excellence in Film award in recognition of outstanding performances in recent films including I, Tonya and Suicide Squad. Oscar-winning actor Heath Ledger was honoured posthumously with a G’Day USA Lifetime Achievement award and songwriter John Farrar was honoured with a G’Day USA Outstanding Achievement in the Arts award.
Actress and G’Day USA Champion Rachel Griffiths and host of Australian Survivor Jonathan Lapaglia co-hosted the evening, which featured entertainment by award winning Australian artists Jessica Mauboy, Isaiah Firebrace, Hugh Sheridan and Rebel Wilson. Delta Goodrem and Human Nature headlined the evening with a 40th Anniversary tribute to Grease with Indigenous performer William Barton opening the show. The evening also featured remarks by the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs the Hon Julie Bishop MP and Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment The Hon Steven Ciobo MP on Australia’s excellence in film, tourism, creative economy, world-class food & beverage and Australia’s economic diplomacy agenda in the United States.
