US-Australian Dialogue on Defence Industries 2016
Australia has a thriving defence industry and a myriad of companies with innovative capabilities. The opportunities for growth in the United States are unparalleled.
The Australian Government is committed to developing a highly skilled and capable Australian defence industry to achieve Australia’s strategic objectives. To that end, the Government is investing more than AUD 215 million dollars over 10 years to grow the skills base of Australian defence industries. This will develop pathways into the sector and create new opportunities for investment. Many of Australia’s large-scale and complex projects, such as the Future Submarine Program, will require advanced skills and capabilities in design, construction and maintenance that US companies specialise in.
The Dialogue will bring together US and Australian defence industry experts to explore future projects, mutual investment and advanced manufacturing skills.
Defence industry companies, policy makers, Fortune 500 companies, academics, investors, economists, businesses and national security experts.
